Weekly MP3 #173: Jan Jelinek - Synthsil2

Ambient Krautrock noodles (eh?) off one of the many Intelligent Toys compilations ("We Make Music") released by Lithuanian netlabel Sutemos.
Things start with some synth loops and a fast kick drum bipping like a Geiger counter. Electric guitar phrases (reversed, forwards, whatever) build up and morph about over time. It's kind of slight, I guess, but still lovely. Feels a bit like it could've been from the 60s or 70s using tape loops and home organ drum machines.
I mentioned this is released on a Lithuanian label, but Jan Jelinek is a German producer, who you might know under the name Farben or Gramm. Or you might not. He's another past favourite of mine - I still have very fond memories of travelling through Germany by train, listening to the Gramm album on my Sony Discman. (A bygone era!)
Jelinek also runs his own label nowadays and has released some good stuff through it.
