No, not Prince's drummer, but Steph has been drumming for 13 years. She's also a student in VUW's sonic arts programme, exploring acousmatic composition and similar mysteries, and, yep, producing beats with machines too. This is her first released tune as a producer, but I was sufficiently impressed by the tracks on her Soundcloud that I had to ask her to get involved.
Steph really pared my original track back, gave the elements heaps of room to breathe. My version's been a bit of a staple of my live sets over the past ... well, 8 years I guess. I've cut it, rearranged it and tweaked it live so many times that it's strange to return to the studio version and remember how I laid it out.
