Jet Jaguar 'Four' remix #3 Samu
I'm releasing 'Four' on Sunday, 1st July. Over the week I'll serve up each of the 7 remixes that make up half the tracks, along with the relevant original track. As well as making beats, Samu shows up round Wellytown playing in The Supper Club Shakedown, which is a live band doing covers of hip-hop classics, plus DJs plenty - Flava on RadioActive.FM being his regular haunt on air.
When I wrote 'Unco Drummer' in 2004 I thought the beats were just so bent and wonky that it was almost funny... now in 2012 they seem kinda standard. Samu's mix did exactly what I hoped it would - took the wonk, chopped back the soft bits, cranked up the punchy bits and made the whole thing bang. It's probably the remix that's closest to the original, but does exactly what it needs to.
